(In this ongoing series, The Cannata Report’s Editor-in-Chief Scott Cullen checks in with a different dealer each week to find out what’s going on at their dealership, what’s hot, what’s not, and whatever else is on their mind. Pictured above: Chip Miceli [right] and Sharp’s Mike Marusic [left].)
In this installment of “Dealer Check-in,” we touch base with one of the channel’s most quoted dealers, Chip Miceli, president of Pulse Technology in Des Plaines, IL. Pulse Technology sells technology from Sharp, Canon, HP, Epson, and Kyocera. The dealership also offers production print, Managed Network Services, phone systems, and thanks to acquisitions, office furniture. Here’s what Chip has to say about the latest happenings at Pulse Technology.
CR: What was the best thing that happened at Pulse Technology in 2019?
Miceli: We ended the year strong. My brother took down a very nice MPS deal. And we are almost ready to move into our new location.
CR: What segment of your business do you have high hopes for in 2020?
Miceli: We still believe there is a lot of MPS available to us, as well as interactive boards. Our MNS product will be strong.
CR: What’s happening in our industry that has you most concerned?
Miceli: Dealers being bought out. I would hate to see the BTA channel get smaller then it already is.
CR: What industry event are you looking most forward to attending in 2020?
Miceli: I always like to go to one BTA event a year. I can’t wait to go to the Epson event.
CR: What’s Pulse Technology’s New Year’s Resolution?
Miceli: To have a big ribbon cutting and open house to show off our new building.
