EO Johnson Business Technologies has acquired print finishing equipment and media solutions company Standard Dynamics, based in Burnsville, Minnesota. The move extends EO Johnson’s Production Print division to include additional finishing equipment, supplies, service and expertise for the benefit of customers. The acquisition was finalized January 3, 2020.
“With the acquisition of Standard Dynamics, we will be able to provide broader expertise than ever before to our clients,” explained Mary Jo Johnson, CEO and owner of EO Johnson Business Technologies. “For more than 85 years, Standard Dynamics has been a successful provider of print finishing equipment, and their expertise is a perfect complement to our existing world-class production equipment and wide-format systems. Clients will have more choices than ever before, including expansion into paper folders and cutters, perfect binders, saddle-stitchers and booklet-makers.”
Standard Dynamics brings an award-winning team of experts in print finishing and packaging equipment, printable media, CNC machining, and metal fabrication. Companies that depend upon Standard Dynamics for these technologies will continue to receive the highest level of customer service and have access to the expanded range of products and services that EO Johnson provides. This combined offering creates a one-stop-shop for production printing needs, from start to finish.
“This is a great marriage of two companies,” explained Al Hillmann, president of Standard Dynamics. “We are thrilled to be a part of EO Johnson’s fastest-growing division. With our extensive finishing expertise, our shared commitment to excellence, and our leadership and passion in the Midwest’s print communications industry, this was such a good fit for both of us. I am also very excited for my staff and the opportunities it brings for them. Like Mary Jo, I believe we are a family, and I’m so proud to be working alongside them in the twilight of my career.”
The addition of Standard Dynamics and their expertise provides diversified product lines to EO Johnson clients, including respected industry brands such as Standard Horizon, Challenge, Epson, OKI, and Perfecta. This acquisition marries two like-minded companies with a common goal of becoming a world-class leader in digital print and finishing products in the Midwest.
