In this week’s episode of Fridays with Frank, some 110 years of combined printing experience is represented as the legendary Frank Romano joins our founder, Frank G. Cannata. The younger Frank, as it were, has spent more than 60 years in the industry as a publisher and editor (of TypeWorld and Pocket Pal), RIT professor and founder of the Museum of Printing in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The longtime industry veterans discuss changing buying behaviors, the potential impact of tariffs on overseas equipment, and the production print opportunity for the dealer channel.
Romano points out digital transformation (DX) and other changes to the office landscape while pointing to the inroads that inkjet technology has made. Both men agree that OEMs need to provide a more diverse product mix, with more palatable price points, particularly entry-level inkjet presses for production print applications.
