The Cannata Report’s Founder, Frank G. Cannata, is joined by special guest Mark Hart to discuss Terra Energy Services by ACDI, the electric vehicle charging station initiative introduced by ACDI in January of 2022.
Cannata shares that at a recent ICDA meeting during a discussion about dealer diversification strategies, Jim George of Donnellon McCarthy Enterprises shared an update about his dealership’s partnership with Terra Energy Services by ACDI. George’s enthusiasm for ACDI’s electric charging stations inspired him to invite Hart to appear on Fridays with Frank for an update.
Met with some skepticism in the office technology dealer channel when first announced, Terra Energy Services by ACDI is enjoying success with dealers nationwide. Hart discusses how the electric charging station business framework fits the office tech dealer model with hardware, recurring revenue, software, and annual maintenance and support.
The market for electric vehicles (EVs) has grown rapidly in recent years and is expected to continue at a fast pace throughout the next decade. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, “although forecasts for the rate of EV adoption over the next decade vary widely given rapid changes in both government policies and the auto manufacturing industry in recent years—many forecasts expect a strong acceleration in EV adoption. S&P Global Mobility forecasts electric vehicle sales in the United States could reach 40 percent of total passenger car sales by 2030, and more optimistic projections foresee electric vehicle sales surpassing 50 percent by 2030.”
