In this week’s episode of Fridays with Frank, our founder Frank G. Cannata chats with old friend Larry White, the president and CEO of Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS), who he has known for more than 30 years. They discuss their mutual, longtime partnership, which has run relatively smoothly over the decades, according to Frank. As he says: “Nothing happens unless we do something together.” Larry talks about areas where OEMs and dealers are finding additional revenues.
White also explains why Toshiba remains bullish on print. Printing represents an $81 billion global market opportunity, he asserts, which is about the same market valuation as cloud infrastructure, electric vehicles, and even AI. “We all need to take advantage of the opportunities available,” he urges. To that end, TABS continues to grow its printer market share, which has increased by a LOT over the past two consecutive years, according to White. Bucking the trend, its printer MIFs were up 6.5% last year, he reports. In addition, revenue from managed print as a service (MPS) was up 9.5%.
Beyond print, he sees software solutions as a tremendous opportunity: up 37% in 2024! “We have a great annuity stream building up for years” in that part of the business, he adds. The challenge is to help dealers become more proficient in this area. TABS is taking a “boot camp” approach to assist, then adds support down the road. Please listen in to learn more.
