(In this ongoing series, The Cannata Report’s Editor-in-Chief Scott Cullen checks in with a different dealer each week to find out what’s going on at their dealership, what’s hot, what’s not, and whatever else is on their mind.)
In this installment of “Dealer Check-in,” we touch base with Jim George, president of Donnellon McCarthy Enterprises (DME) in Cincinnati, OH. Let’s hear what Jim has to say about what’s been going on at DME the week of Sept. 16.
CR: What’s happening at DME this week?
George: DME is planning our company Halloween Party that will happen on October 18. This week we are getting a Halloween event planning committee together that will work on planning and setting up the event and getting others involved. Another focus this week is on Managed Print Services. DME’s director of Managed Print Services had Clover Imaging Group in the office to go over the program. Every office was involved on the conference call.
CR: What segments of the business are doing well?
George: The segments that are doing well include our IT and software solutions.
CR: What’s happening in the industry that has you concerned?
George: Industry concerns include competitors selling on price and the race to zero on CPC’s.
CR: Anything else going on at DME or in the industry that has you excited?
George: DME recently wrapped up the fiscal year with double-digit growth and profits!
CR: What are your plans for the weekend?
George: Spending a nice evening with my wife and going to church. I am also planning on going to one of our employee’s kids football games.
