The highlight of this month’s production print issue is our cover feature on Konica Minolta’s Customer Experience Center (CEC) in Ramsey, New Jersey. Editor-in-Chief Scott Cullen and I were wowed by the CEC when we visited it in early July. This photo-filled feature provides an inside look at this cutting-edge, high-tech complex that includes a working printshop outfitted with virtually every production and industrial print device that Konica Minolta sells.
Our production print coverage extends beyond our cover feature with articles on selling wide format, strategies for selling production and industrial print software, and a new industry initiative with The Mariano Rivera Foundation to prepare young people from at-risk communities for careers in the imaging and production print space. As you probably know, our Editor-at-Large Frank G. Cannata has strong opinions about the viability of production and industrial print, and in this month’s Frankly Speaking column, he encourages dealers to take a good hard look at inkjet technology. The issue also includes a preview of the recently canceled PRINTING United conference. Even though the show will not go on, readers will still find value reading about what visitors to the conference, originally scheduled for the first week in October, would have seen from an array of exhibitors.
Finally, don’t miss our CR-CONNECT Dealer Tour visit to Fisher’s Technology in Boise, Idaho, especially to learn about this dealership’s unique approach to building a managed IT business.
