The second day of EFI’s Engage user conference started with a General Session featuring Gaby Matsliach, EFI’s SVP/GM, productivity software, who provided an overview on EFI’s upcoming software introductions and enhancements.
The global virtual conference began on Monday, January 25 and runs through February 4. Over the next eight days The Cannata Report will provide a two-minute recap of the conference’s general sessions.
Here are the highlights from Matsliach’s “State of the Products” address, which you should be able to read in two minutes or less.
“The impact of COVID on our productivity software customers varied. Some unfortunately had a dramatic decline. Some were able to sustain some decent activity and/or pivot the business. And some enjoyed increasing business, more so in packaging than in print.”
“From a technology and a business process standpoint, the way our customers responded was also varied. Some took the downturn to invest in technology. Some delayed investment or existing projects, either waiting to get a better view of the horizon or being so busy in keeping up with the demand while keeping their team safe and healthy. Some took the advantage of government stimulus incentives to make technology purchases that they had been unable to make before.”
“We did not scale back our investment in our technology and innovations during these difficult times. And in quite a few areas, we even doubled down.”
