Ricoh has completed the acquisition of DocuWare. Headquartered in Germany and the United States, DocuWare provides cloud and on-premise document management and workflow automation software. The company supports over 12,000 customers in more than 90 countries through a network of 600 partners. Ricoh has a long-term existing partnership with DocuWare and employs its software both internally in its own operations and with existing customers.
David Mills, corporate senior vice president, Ricoh Company Ltd, says: “This exciting acquisition enables us to provide customers with further scope to maximize the value of their documents and business content. We are delighted to offer additional capabilities to support new and existing customers in their pursuit of growth.”
The acquisition is part of Ricoh’s strategy to develop its digital workplace transformation offering and will see DocuWare operate as a subsidiary of Ricoh. Furthermore, Ricoh is committed to growing and strengthening DocuWare across all current and future channels.
Ricoh announced its intent to acquire DocuWare on 2 July. DocuWare was supported in the acquisition by William Blair, a Global Investment Banking & Asset Management company.
