Ricoh USA, Inc. announced its line-up of industry-leading solutions on display at PRINTING United Expo 2023. The company’s presence will showcase real-world use cases of its latest technologies that enable print service providers to transform data into information and power customer success, driving growth, agility and return on investment for their businesses.
“Print service providers, from in-plants to commercial printers, must evolve into more agile and innovative partners to keep up with their end customers’ changing demands,” said Gavin Jordan-Smith, senior vice president and general manager, Head of Global Sales Strategy Division & RICOH Graphic Communications North America Sales, RICOH Graphic Communications. “Our goal at PRINTING United is to inspire them with what’s possible when you combine the power of information and deep expertise with world-class technology platforms to create the business agility customers need to thrive.”
“Information is beautiful” is the driving concept behind the Ricoh booth (#B1916), an immersive environment that celebrates and displays the beauty, power, and integrated impact of print. An art display of museum-quality prints brings the concept to life through the vision of a diverse group of emerging and established artists. Produced using Ricoh’s state-of-the-art printing technology, including fifth-color enhancements on a variety of impactful substrates, the work inspires attendees to consider what the power of information can deliver for print service providers today – from improved workflows, to reduced waste, to better color management and automated production.
For every badge scanned in its booth, Ricoh will make a donation to Stay Alive Make Art, a non-profit organization created to help young people discover the transformative power of art to fuel creativity, battle addiction, and better cope with mental health challenges through workshops and scholarship programs nationwide.
The show will mark the North American debut of the RICOH Auto Color Adjuster, a first-of-its-kind solution combining Ricoh’s advanced optical and digital technologies to adjust colors automatically. Winner of a 2023 PRINTING United Alliance Pinnacle Product Award in the “non-output” category, it transforms how print service providers operate by delivering precise color matching without the time, expense and expertise that goes with it.
Texas-based Simon Printing is the first U.S. customer of the RICOH Auto Color Adjuster. After deploying the solution, the company realized a 90 percent reduction in time spent on calibration, and slashed time spent creating ICC profiles from up to an hour down to a few minutes.
“The Auto Color Adjuster simplifies the process and removes all the guesswork from calibration and print color matching,” said Tucker Simon, digital printing manager, Simon Printing. “Having one device to profile multiple printers at the same time is unprecedented. Now you can just print something, and it can be automatically color-matched and profiled correctly.”
The Ricoh booth will feature a product showcase, giving visitors the opportunity to be among the first to get hands-on demonstrations of its latest hardware and software technologies. Alongside the RICOH Auto Color Adjuster will be the North American debut of two digital presses:
RICOH Pro C9500, the next generation of its flagship toner-based color sheet-fed press, building on what made the RICOH Pro C9200 an industry favorite with new image quality, productivity, and substrate capabilities.
RICOH Pro C7500, the latest in the company’s 5th color series, featuring expanded color capabilities and advanced media handling with new operational enhancements to drive efficiency and deliver intuitive, powerful controls.
The Product Showcase will also feature a Production Inkjet station with virtual experiences of the company’s portfolio of sheet- and roll-fed platforms, including the RICOH Pro Z75, RICOH Pro VC70000e and RICOH Pro VC40000. Visitors looking for wide-format solutions can turn their attention to the EFI® Pro 30h Wide Format LED Hybrid Printer.
Complimenting the product showcase will be presentations on the software and services that empower print service providers to put smart data to work for their businesses and expand their offerings. For future-looking print service providers, software solutions like RICOH TotalFlow® Producer are helping automate and expand operations with scalable, vendor-agnostic workflow and operational tools. It will be on display in demo stations showing attendees the latest across all aspects of the end-to-end production process, from workflow automation and color management to advanced finishing.
Ricoh is partnering with organizations across the graphics industry to provide opportunities for attendees to expand their education or tap into the experience of industry peers. For in-house teams, Ricoh is serving as a Premium Sponsor of the In-Plant Community Hub (booth #B19013), and will present at the In-Plant Impressions and IPMA luncheons during the show. The company will also host demos in its booth as part of the Idealliance G7® Expert Training and Certification program held live during PRINTING United Expo.
