Komori announced that Relyus Direct Mail Solutions has purchased an eight-color Komori Lithrone G40 advance perfector (GL840P advance) with LED-UV. The new press is part of the company’s strategic plan to replace its older heatset web presses to provide a way to produce targeted direct mail and print products for its nationwide clientele that includes top advertising and public relations companies. With the enhanced technology of the GL840P advance, Relyus is looking forward to achieving an even faster time to market, greater energy savings and a significant reduction in labor.
“We have always been a heatset web facility. However, our web presses are older models that require significant upkeep. Our strategic growth plan involved investing in technology that offered more sophisticated control of press operations,” said Michael Wilkerson, Jr., owner of Relyus Direct Mail Solutions. “We began looking seriously at the new sheetfed offset presses on the market to determine how investing in one could change our current workflow for the better. Many of my staff have been with me since we started Relyus twenty years ago, so I was also looking for a way to make jobs easier on my operators. The intuitive ease of use and the high production capability of the GL840P advance were deciding factors to go with Komori.”
“The move Relyus is making from older web technology to fully automated, LED-UV sheet-fed technology is a major statement for its customer base. It will allow Relyus to be more efficient, cost effective and timely in a print market that is trending towards shorter runs, faster turn times, less waste and lower labor availability,” said Lance Martin, vice president of marketing, Komori America. “We are excited Relyus decided to take this step with Komori and look forward to a strong partnership going forward.”
