Landa Digital Printing announced Brodnax’s purchase of a Landa S10P Nanographic Printing Press. Brodnax 21C Packaging is a sister company to Brodnax 21C Printing.
Jim Singer, co-owner of the Brodnax companies and a 30+ year veteran of the industry, equips the Brodnax companies for success by studying trends and purchasing state of the art solutions. He believes that Landa’s Nanographic Printing presses will prompt a worldwide paradigm shift on the order of the desktop publishing explosion that shook the industry in the 90s. “My partner and I have been discussing it, and we don’t know if we will ever buy another offset press again,” he says.
“The intriguing thing about the Landa is that 40” B1 sheet size, especially coupled with the speed,” Singer explains. “We’re a 40” shop; all our equipment is 40”. We’ve got one job that’s highly variable. We’ve run it before so we know it will be 220 hours on our fastest digital. On the Landa, we’ll be able to complete the job in about 18 hours. If you’re a print shop owner and you understand the numbers, it’s a compelling combination. It’s pure mathematics.”
“Brodnax is a versatile, high-quality commercial printer that’s known for identifying market trends and adapting to them,” says Sharon Cohen, chief business officer at Landa Digital Printing. “Their unique customer portfolio creates challenges which the Landa S10P is uniquely equipped to handle. We are proud to have them join the Landa family of customers and look forward to showing off the great things we can produce together.”
Brodnax Packaging is initially planning to dedicate the Landa S10P to the company’s high end trading card production. The company also anticipates using the Landa press for increasingly complex direct mail campaigns, as well as for several general print applications. A great deal of the jobs planned for the Landa rely on the press’ ability to reach and repeat color at speed. “On the three separate occasions I ran a test form, the color matched precisely with a ΔE of 1 – which means it was, effectively, the same. The human eye would not be able to tell the difference,” says Singer.
Now that the S10P is installed, pressroom staff have started training with onsite Landa personnel. Singer has commended the Landa team on their efficiency: “They’ve done everything they said they would do. It hasn’t interrupted our existing workflows. They told us what we needed to do to be prepared. We did those things, and then they just knocked it out of the park.”

About Brodnax 21C Packaging
Brodnax 21C Printers, founded in 1957, launched Brodnax 21C Packaging in 2022 when the company decided that rapid growth of its packaging and trading card business warranted the spin-off of a separate, dedicated entity. In parallel, increasingly sophisticated clientele began requesting applications requiring B1 digital workflow technology. This trend supported Brodnax’s belief that the future of print would be heavily influenced by digital printing, digital embellishment, and digital finishing. As such, the Brodnax 21C Packaging partnership made the decision to purchase a Landa Nanographic Printing Press. Brodnax 21C Packaging has designed and executed a digital workflow centered on the B1 Landa press and a Scodix Ultra 6000 B1 embellishment device.
