HP, Inc. has announced the introduction of Tango, a fully app-based, voice-activated printer. The printer reportedly allows users to print, scan, and copy from anywhere.
The printer offers covers based on the latest trends in International fashion, design and materials. These covers are made of soft materials that service as both an aesthetic accent and paper landing zone. A “guided lighting” LED illuminates the paper tray when it’s printing or out of paper.
The device is HP Smart App powered, enabling users to use the app to communicate with Tango, printing using cellular data or a remote WiFi connection. Users can also order ink directly from the app or let Tango do it automatically via HP Instant Ink. The app also notifies users when a print job is complete, ink and paper levels, and if the cover of the device is closed.
Users who enroll Tango in HP Instant Ink can print photos for free from their smartphones.
HP Tango will be available in October for $149; HP Tango X (includes cover) will also be available next month for $199. The Tango covers are available in Indigo Linen, Charcoal Linen, and later this year, Cork Currant. Tango and the covers will be available for purchase at HP.com, Best Buy, Amazon.com and Apple. Download the HP Smart App from the Apple or Google Play Stores.
