DocuWare, provider of cloud solutions for document management and workflow automation, saw strong and consistent usage of their cloud solutions during and following the COVID-19 lockdown.
Since March of this year, workforces have gone remote and demand for document management solutions soared. DocuWare grew their number of new cloud customers by 24.3 percent compared to the same period in 2019. This increase is driven by businesses who never had a work-from-home setup, now needing secure document management and workflow solutions for their newly distributed teams.
In addition, DocuWare saw continuous usage of its cloud platform from customers through the wave of lockdowns in the first half of 2020 with every week showing millions of documents added and tens of thousands of users accessing their business information. Those volumes have increased 50% and 30% respectively as of September, as even more organizations find DocuWare to be the perfect cloud solution for their distributed workforces.
“The type of document management solution most sought after right now offers secure document access and archiving but also enables real-time collaboration between remote teams,” says DocuWare president, Dr. Michael Berger. The product can be very quickly customized to fit individual business needs, positioning it as a leading choice for the small to medium sized businesses. “Our focus on usability means that the learning curve is short – a crucial benefit to any company in this current environment,” concludes Berger.
It is estimated that the global mobile workforce will reach nearly two billion workers by the year 2022.* This growing trend of businesses establishing secure work-from-home setups for their employees was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June of this year, DocuWare conducted a survey of over 500 US business owners/managers to evaluate how well they were supporting their mobile workforces. While 73 percent of businesses said they considered cloud-based tools “very” to “extremely” valuable during the COVID-19 pandemic, only 29 percent reported feeling completely prepared for their employees to work from home. By comparison, 18 percent of businesses surveyed felt they were “mostly” or “completely” unprepared for their employees to work from home; while 21 percent had not implemented any digital tools for remote work**. These are the types of businesses that make up DocuWare’s new cloud customer profile.
Almost all industry sectors have adjusted to work-from-home teams and DocuWare predicts that their cloud customer base will steadily expand, especially with new DocuWare solutions designed specifically to help manage the COVID-19 pandemic – the employee screening form, a simple mobile-friendly eform for managing office visits, was built and released to customers in just a few days.
