Datamax Inc. President Barry Simon has been named among the “250 Most Influential Leaders in Arkansas” for 2023 by the Arkansas Business Publishing Group, and as such, is featured in the group’s special issue released this month.
Datamax’s Little Blue Book Philosophy #6, as part of the organization’s cultural agenda, reminds all employees “to recognize and accept the responsibility of being an involved corporate citizen in the community.” Simon has undoubtedly led that charge, serving on countless boards and volunteer initiatives for both nonprofit organizations and manufacturer groups during his Arkansas tenure.
These include, but are certainly not limited to, Chairman of the Board of Centers for Youth and Family, CARTI, Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Better Business Bureau and Riverfest, The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas, and The Children’s Tumor Foundation; he has also served as Chairman of the Canon USA Dealer Advisory Council, and currently serves as Lexmark’s Advisory Board Chairman.
Members of this esteemed list were chosen by an Arkansas Business Publishing Group panel that combed through the state’s various media outlets, and met with executives from each region and major industry, while “keeping our ears open to the good deeds and power moves of Arkansas’ leaders.”
“We consider many, from the CEOs of Fortune 500 companies to the rising stars making their way into industry conversations,” wrote Editor Addison Freeman, in the publication’s welcome letter. “From nonprofit organizations to publicly and privately traded companies, our goal is to represent those working to propel our state into the future.”
Listed in the “Industry Leader” category, the publication writes about Simon: “Simon stresses serving communities through his membership on numerous nonprofit and community boards. Datamax has been awarded Best Places to Work in Arkansas and the Konica Minolta Pro-Tech Service Award for seven years straight, the Microsoft Gold Partner recognition for 16 years straight and has been named a Canon Advanced Partner for the past 10 years.”
“On behalf of all his Raving Fans here at Datamax, and the countless people he has connected with throughout the state of Arkansas, we congratulate Barry on this highly deserved recognition,” said Datamax Inc. Vice President of Marketing Robert Caldwell.
