Canon U.S.A., Inc., has announced the release of the next generation of imageFORMULA Production Document Scanners, the DR-G2110 and DR-G2140.
The DR-G2110 and DR-G2140 are designed to process large volumes of documents and withstand the rigors of production-level scanning. Additionally, they are the industry’s first production document scanners with both USB and Ethernet network connectivity.
“High-volume document scanning is a core feature of many of our clients’ day-to-day business operations, thus consider it a mission critical process,” said Shinichi Yoshida, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A. “As such, we’re always seeking ways to provide customers with a high-performance, reliable, and flexible scanning solution as part of a robust document management system.”
The DR-G2110 DR-G2140 scanners handle up to 110 and 140 pages per minute respectively””both sides in a single pass*””and hold up to 500 sheets in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). They can also scan in color, black-and-white, and grayscale, and the dedicated image processing chip helps them to maintain rated scanning speeds.
The Ethernet interface offers a connectivity option for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments, and also allows for the scanners to be shared by PCs in the network.
The DR-G2110 DR-G2140 scanners utilize a new feature called Active Thresholding, which can convert wrinkled, poor contrast paper documents into clear, clean digital images. Kofax Virtual ReScan (VRS) Professional software is also included for image cleanup and enhancement.
The scanners feature a control panel that allows access to scanner settings, and user-programmable job buttons for one-touch operation. They are also equipped with a motorized paper feed tray that can be adjusted to the height of the batch, and flexible paper feed and output guides.
