ECi Software Solutions has announced that it has acquired Print Audit. Print Audit’s product suite includes tools for managed print services (MPS), device data collection and document management for both dealers and users. Print Audit will become part of ECi’s Field Service Division, and the team will report to ECi’s Field Service President, Laryssa Alexander.
“ECi is committed to offering world-class software solutions for our office equipment and managed print services customers, and we’re always looking for opportunities to improve those offerings,” said Ron Books, CEO of ECi. “Print Audit is the perfect addition to our suite, giving us the opportunity to add valuable capabilities to our offerings for the benefit of our customers.”
“Office equipment dealers are facing a changing landscape, and they need new tools and business models to help them adapt to the current landscape,” said John MacInnes, CEO and founder of Print Audit. “Combining forces with ECi will give our products the reach and our customers the increased resources they need to reach their full potential for success.”
Scott’s Upshot
With this acquisition ECI has practically run the table when it comes to acquiring print management solutions providers. If you recall, in January, ECI acquired PrintFleet. That acquisition was preceded by the acquisition of FMAudit in 2011. What’s left for ECI in its quest for worldwide print management dominance? Did somebody say Papercut? To be honest, we don’t see them making a move to buy Papercut anytime soon, but as we are well aware when it comes to acquisitions and mergers in the imaging industry, never say never.
