Panasonic System Solutions Company of North America, Division of Panasonic Corporation of North America and a producer of document management and imaging solutions, has announced that its KV-S2087, KV-S8127 and KV-S8147 scanners are now registered EPEAT Bronze, meeting a list of more than 30 mandatory environmental performance criteria. This distinction follows Panasonic’s announcement that its KV-S1027C and KV-S1057C received the EPEAT Bronze certification last year, underscoring the company’s commitment to manufacturing sustainable solutions and differentiating them from others on the market.
Used by the U.S. government, EPEAT is the definitive global rating system for greener electronic products and currently tracks more than 4,400 products from more than 60 manufacturers across 43 countries to help organizations streamline their purchases of sustainable electronic products. Designed for medium to high-volume scanning needs, Panasonic’s KV-S2087, KV-S8127 and KV-S8147 scanners meet the diverse needs of professionals across industries looking for environmentally preferable and cost-effective electronic solutions. Appropriate for banks, government, service bureaus and other medium to high-volume scanning environments, the solutions can scan from 170 to 280 images per minute on materials from paper to cardstock. Meeting guidelines that address design, production, energy use and recycling, these scanners are both economically and environmentally efficient and support Panasonic’s conscious approach to design.
“We are excited that our KV-S2087, KV-S8127 and KV-S8147 document scanners have received the EPEAT Bronze rating, offering customers the guidance they need to purchase devices that will support a healthier environment,” said Joseph Odore, product manager for Document & Imaging Products, Panasonic System Solutions Company of North America. “Panasonic is committed to providing the latest technology solutions to businesses in need of high performance equipment for their workplace. With this latest certification, we are in an even better position to deliver on our promise to help businesses succeed, both financially and environmentally.”
Since 2003, EPEAT has assessed products based on ANSI-approved public standards developed through stakeholder consensus processes and claims of compliance by manufacturers are subject to ongoing verification by qualified certification bodies. EPEAT currently covers PCs and displays, imaging equipment, televisions and mobile phones.
