MPS Monitor announced that its new DCA 4 data collection agent has been tested and reviewed by Keypoint Intelligence independent labs. As a result of the testing activity, MPS Monitor DCA 4 has been honored with a Buyers Lab (BLI) Outstanding Achievement Award. Full details of the testing can be found in the White Paper Report.
Keypoint Intelligence’s analysts and lab technicians conducted testing and research activity. This included both hands-on lab tests and a review of third-party security testing that MPS Monitor had performed with the help of specialized security firms before and after DCA 4’s initial release.
The result of the analysis proves the quality, security and richness of features within DCA 4, and highlights the improvements that MPS Monitor has implemented in its DCA core technology, making it “a leading-edge data collection agent that is equipped to deal with the worst security threats and to provide efficient, simple and versatile data collection”.
Keypoint Intelligence had already successfully tested several previous versions of MPS Monitor’s DCA (then called eXplorer 3). The last testing sessions were performed in 2020 as part of the testing of the entire MPS Monitor platform, which resulted in a Platinum Evaluation and in a Security Compliance Seal. The overall security posture of the platform was also subject to an extensive analysis performed in 2021, which led to the release of a dedicated Managed Print Services Platform Security Whitepaper.
The announcement of DCA 4 in March 2022 marked another major milestone in the platform’s journey to bring the highest levels of innovation, integration and security to the Managed Print Services industry; therefore, MPS Monitor and Keypoint Intelligence decided to perform dedicated and specific testing to evaluate the impact of the new DCA 4 technology on the entire platform’s value proposition.
The test results are detailed in the White Paper, which includes a complete overview of the new features like real-time communication, optimized device discovery, device web access and the recent PaperCut Integration. The report also describes the many security improvements and provides details on the external code review and penetration testing activities performed by ECSC Group plc to ensure that DCA 4 meets the most stringent security requirements and does not contain exploitable or high-risk vulnerabilities.
Commenting on the testing results, Nicola De Blasi, CEO of MPS Monitor, stated: “As has already happened many times in the past, once again Keypoint Intelligence’s testing methodology provides an independent and trusted recognition of the effort and investments that our company makes to stay at the top of the market in providing exceptional and secure IoT technology for the remote management of printing devices. Over the last 12 years, MPS Monitor’s DCA has been installed in more than half a million customer networks and is currently used by thousands of dealers to manage more than 1.2 million printing devices across 60 countries. We are thrilled to see DCA 4 perform so strongly and in line with expectations during the tests. Furthermore, we have already received extremely positive feedback from all dealers who are successfully installing thousands of DCA 4s at their customers every day”.
