For the fourth consecutive year, KDI Office Technology has given a family-in-need some extra support around the holidays. Thanks to a long-term partnership with Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and the assistance of Lee Lucas, Nemours’ Clinical Manager of Patient & Family Services, the perfect recipient was identified. Through various internal fundraisers, raffles, and auctions, KDI employees collectively raised $3,000 in gift cards for a very special family. “Each year I look forward to feeling supported as a social worker,” said Lucas. “It’s wonderful to be able to work with a company who cares about families so altruistically. I am so appreciative of KDI’s generosity.”

14-year-old Niyelle, who’s one of four children, is affected by polycystic disease, a genetic disorder affecting the kidneys. She’s been on hemodialysis for several years and her family has been experiencing financial hardship. The 3x per week hospital visits, Danielle missing work, and the logistics of transportation have been very difficult. Additionally, Niyelle recently had her kidneys removed and will need her pancreas removed as well due to multiple cysts and reoccurring pancreatitis. Danielle could not thank KDI enough. She remarked that her family was so extremely blessed thanks to KDI; without their generosity she wasn’t sure what she would have done.
The Team at KDI is so happy to have been able to make a difference for Niyelle and her family over the holidays. “I have so much gratitude for our team,” said Rick Salcedo, KDI president & CEO. “I thank you all for your continued generosity and thoughtfulness. The impact each and every one of our employees is making on this family is so meaningful and makes me proud. We hope you had a wonderful holiday and wish you and yours a very happy, healthy New Year.”
