Bay Copy honored six of its employees who have 140 combined years of service to the Rockland-based, second-generation family business.
The longevity of Bay Copy employees is all the more remarkable when seen in the context of a 2020 study from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which shows that the typical employee remains at a job for just over four years.
Ray Belanger, CEO of Bay Copy, congratulated the long-term employees for their dedication, loyalty and contributions to the company. “Ours is a family business, and the team of people who have achieved this longevity are family to us,” he said, adding, “We’ve celebrated and acknowledged many events in each other’s lives – from the happy moments of weddings, baptisms, graduations, and some of the more solemn moments as well.”
He continued, “There is a saying that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and as our company approaches the fifty-year mark, I can say without hesitation that a big part of the success of Bay Copy is the team effort that our employees give each and every day. We are extremely fortunate to have this fine and talented group of professionals as part of our extended Bay Copy family.”
The following employees were honored for their years of service.
Laura Murphy, a resident of Hanson, Supply Manager, 10 years. She oversees the department which is responsible for fulfillment of supply requests from Bay Copy customers. The department handles such products as toner, cartridges and accessories for equipment. Murphy joined the company as an Assistant in the same department prior to being promoted. One of her strong interests is assisting animals who are in need, and she has helped rescue stray dogs and return them to their owners.
Chris Daudelin of Douglas, MA, 20 years. He is a member of Bay Copy’s team of technicians and has completed many specific industry training programs over the years. Daudelin is an active martial arts student and maintains a black belt.
Dave Newton of Plymouth, MA, Director of Technical Services, 20 years. He came to Bay Copy in 2001 when Bay Copy acquired the Norwood, MA based AdCom. The North Eastham, MA native studied at Wentworth College and began his career in the document imaging industry at AdCom in Norwood. He has earned a number of service-related certifications from Lexmark, Konica Minolta and SHARP.
David Hazlewood of Brockton, MA, Field Technician, 25 years.His duties include repair and troubleshooting for Konica brand multi-function printers, as well as setting up and maintaining connectivity and networking on the products.
Ken Berlo of White Horse Beach, Delivery/Warehouse Manager, 30 years. He oversees deliveries of major equipment to Bay Copy clients and has also served as Senior Lead Technician in the field.
Kim Murphy of Hanson, MA, Contract Coordinator, 35 years. She manages the company’s service and rental contracts as well as overseeing invoicing and collection agreements. She previously was the Supply Manager at the company, a position now held by her daughter Laura. The Hingham, MA native studied at Quincy College, is active in her church, and enjoys bowling in her spare time.
