As we look ahead, 2019 is poised to be another banner year for The Cannata Report, as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of our parent company, Marketing Research Consultants LLC, which Frank Cannata launched in 1979 with the original and sole intent of helping the Japanese manufacturers introduce, market, and distribute copiers in the U.S.
In 1982, this initial iteration grew into our media business and what is now The Cannata Report, which we feted in 2017, marking the 35th year of publishing The Cannata Report. Like the industry we cover, our business continues to shift and evolve. In tandem with our 40th anniversary celebration, you can look forward to the rebranding of MRC’s name to “The Cannata Group,” which accurately captures what our dealers and readers have come to know us as.
After enjoying some downtime during the holiday season, we will hit the road again in mid-January, beginning with NRF 2019: Retail’s Big Show (featuring exhibits by Toshiba) at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, followed by EFI Connect 2019 at the Wynn in Las Vegas.
In February, we look forward to attending Canon’s Media & Analyst Event 2019 at the Waterstone Resort & Marina in Boca Raton, and in March, we are highly anticipating Konica Minolta’s Dealer Conference 2019″”the manufacturer’s first since 2016″”in Newport Beach (venue TBD).
February will also mark the launch of our first issue of 2019, and our first Security-themed issue, followed in March by a second annual “Dealer of the Future”-themed issue, due to the success of the original’s last year.
Aside from confirmed travels and Q1 issue launches, The Cannata Report will continue our CR LIVE: Dealer Tour into 2019. In the new year, we will continue solidifying dates, and to date, we’ve confirmed visits with the following dealers: Frank Cucco and Impact Networking; Frank Gaspari and FlexPrint; Darren Metz and Novatech; and Dean Swenson and The Swenson Group.
We are also greatly anticipating the launch of our 34th Annual Dealer Survey, which is set to launch by the end of the first calendar quarter. We are proud to announce our Survey is officially sponsored by TIAA Bank for the sixth consecutive year.
