The leaders of Fuji Xerox, Konica Minolta, Kyocera Document Solutions, and Ricoh reveal their top initiatives for 2020.
Entering 2020, representatives from the MFP manufacturers have revealed their resolutions. Each company’s policy is to provide products and solutions that adapt to office work styles, which have changed dramatically due to digitalization. What follows are comments from the leaders of Fuji Xerox, Konica Minolta, Kyocera Document Solutions, and Ricoh about their 2020 initiatives.
Fuji Xerox President Kouichi Tamai
“A year in which we see change as an opportunity and pursue further growth.”
In November of 2019, Fuji Xerox became a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujifilm Holdings, and will start anew on April 1, 2021, as FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corp. The company’s name was determined with an aspiration “to remain as a company that will constantly innovate businesses as a part of the Fujifilm Group,” said Tamai, adding:
I am convinced that the world-renowned Fujifilm brand will help Fuji Xerox grow in the future. We will provide innovative products and services that respond to market needs more quickly and take a full-fledged step toward becoming a global leader in the document market.
Since we were founded in 1962 as a pioneer in the office document field, we have always led the industry with outstanding technical and strong sales capabilities. In the future, we will be released from the constraints of the business domain, and the stage of our activities will greatly expand from Asia Pacific to the world.
Seeing these changes as a great opportunity, we will work harder than ever to help our customers create value while continuing to change and pursue further growth.
Konica Minolta President and CEO Shoei Yamana
“Solving social issues by continuing to respond to customer needs for visualization.”
We would like to create an environment that enhances productivity and creativity for the professionals who work for our customer companies by providing them with a digital workplace. Professionals working within those companies will help improve the lives of the people who receive support from them.
People will be the driving force behind this initiative. In 2020, we will further enhance and interact with our unique image IoT and AI human capital and will establish a new R&D base in the Kansai area [in Japan] to create innovations that respond to customer needs for visualization. Our company’s more than 40,000 workers will create new value for the global environment and human society by making each individual’s differences our power and opening the door to connect with each other within our own company but also with customers and partners.
Kyocera Document Solutions President Norihiko Ina
“All employees work together to contribute to customers’ business growth and competitiveness improvement.”
The business environment surrounding us is undergoing significant changes due to the development of IoT, AI, and RPA (robotics process automation), as well as efforts to realize digital transformation using the latest digital technologies.
In such a market environment, the amount of information in documents is increasing exponentially. I believe it is our role to help our customers efficiently manage information, turn that information into knowledge, and quickly solve problems. Since last April, we have launched new branding activities around the world with the aim to become a partner that can help our customers improve their operations. The core concept of this branding is “Put Knowledge to Work.” As a partner, working closely with customers to further their transformation, we will help our customers in all industries apply their knowledge to work and maximize business opportunities.
Ricoh President Yoshinori Yamashita
“Become a company that supports pleasure from work.”
We advocated office automation (OA) in 1977 and have been working to improve productivity in office operations. Now, we define the value we provide to our customers as “Empowering Digital Workplaces,” and support transformation for the working people by expanding our domain to any workplace in addition to the office. We aim to be a company that stays close to working people and supports their pleasure from work by focusing on work that is more human and creative. By contributing to the resolution of social issues through our business, we will work with customers to create a sustainable society.
