We did it!
The Cannata Report has completed another year doing what we believe we do best. Not to sound smug, but that’s writing about and providing analysis of the office imaging industry.
But we know we can do better. Toward that end, we are making changes to expand the scope of our print and online coverage. It’s an ambitious undertaking for a publication with a small staff, but we are confident we can make it work. Let’s see where this takes us.
Starting in this issue, we debut the first of a quarterly Economics/Business column written by economist Henry Willmore, founder of Inflationist LLC, an organization that provides statistics and forecasts for the U.S. inflation-linked bond market. He’s also an adjunct economics professor at UC Berkeley and former head of U.S. Economics for Barclays Capital. Willmore will write on general economic and business issues—topics that should resonate with anyone in business, particularly those selling products sourced globally.
We are also increasing our coverage of managed services, a growth area for many dealers, and an area where many dealers struggle to enter the business or turn a profit. This month, we profile a small Louisiana dealer who is enjoying surprising success providing managed services to his rural customers.
In the new year, there will be no need to wait for the latest print edition of The Cannata Report to read compelling editorial and keep up with the latest industry news. We are expanding our digital coverage with more original content. Because it isn’t always possible to publish our show and event coverage in a timely manner in print, most of that coverage will now appear online throughout the year. We’ll also be publishing more short features, as well as more of Frank Cannata’s popular Frankly Speaking columns.
You may have noticed a new digital column we launched this fall titled “Dealer Check-in” where we find out what’s going on with a different dealer each week. It’s a great way to discover what your peers in the industry are doing. Expect to see more quick and concise reads like that in the coming year.
Starting in January, we’ll be posting more podcasts featuring dealers and industry leaders discussing the most pressing topics of interest to the dealer community such as security, tariffs, diversification opportunities, and acquisitions. You can access those podcasts on the podcast section of our website.
For those who still believe that video killed the radio star, we plan to produce more videos in 2020. Those sights and sounds will be available on the special video section of our website and on our YouTube channel.
What else can you expect from us in 2020? How about more interviews with industry movers and shakers in print and online, more articles about diversification opportunities, and more opinions!
We are just getting started, and the creativity and the ideas will continue to flow throughout the coming year
Thanks for being a part of our journey, and we look forward to informing and educating you in the coming year.
Have a happy and successful new year from all of us at The Cannata Report!
