- The three most pressing concerns within the entire dealer universe comprising our Survey were declining clicks (36%), hiring and retention (29%), and competing with manufacturers’ direct branches (16%).
- When viewing those concerns regardless of where the dealer ranked them as a concern, the top three concerns are declining clicks (57%), hiring and retention (54%), and maintaining profitability (41%).
- Most dealers (92%) don’t consider diversification their number one concern, however, 35% of all dealers consider it as one of their top three concerns.
- Dealers representing Konica Minolta (49%), Kyocera (37%), and Sharp (34%) were most concerned about diversifying their product/solutions/services offerings.
- Dealers’ ratings of their A3 manufacturers experienced a slight uptick from the previous year, with the Big Six averaging 4.2 out of a possible high score of 5.0. Last year, that figure was 4.0.
- For the fifth consecutive year, Sharp received the highest A3 manufacturer rating (4.7), up from 4.6 last year.
- After receiving the worst rating of an A3 OEM (3.0) in the history of our Survey last year, Konica Minolta improved to 3.8 this year, still the lowest of the Big Six OEMs.
- A4 ratings improved slightly from last year, rising to 4.0 from 3.8 as dealers continue to express their displeasure with their OEMs. Once again, Sharp received the highest rating (4.3), with Kyocera second at 4.2.
- Two A4 providers received ratings of under 4, HP at 3.5 and Lexmark at 3.8.
- For the sixth consecutive year, the average number of leasing partners was 2.6.
- The ratings of the top five leasing partners—those identified by 25 or more dealers as a primary leasing partner—were GreatAmerica Financial Services (4.7), LEAF Commercial Capital (4.6), U.S. Bank (4.3), Wells Fargo (4.0), and DLL (3.4). DLL experienced the biggest decline of all the leasing companies after receiving a rating of 4.3 a year ago.
- The percentage of dealers handling their own leasing increased from 9% last year to 10.8% this year.
- The top two ECM/document management providers in this year’s Survey were DocuWare and Square 9, followed by Kyocera/Hyland Software, and Laserfiche.
- The top four print management providers were ACDI/PaperCut, FMAudit, Kyocera, and Canon.
- Ricoh was identified as the top production print provider by dealers (34%), followed by Canon (23%), Konica Minolta (20%), and Xerox (15%).
