Exhibit 2.35
This year’s Survey results were an eye-opener for production print (Exhibit 2.35). There are currently four manufacturers (Canon, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, and Xerox) with full production print product lines vying for recognition in this category. Collectively, they received recognition from 164 dealers who said these manufacturers were the best out of the 210 dealers who voted in this category. If you look at Part 1 of our Survey, not a single dealer listed Xerox as their primary A3 MFP provider. However, Xerox appeared in several areas of our Survey, including production print in Part 2.
When 78% of all dealers who responded to this question in the Survey identify these four manufacturers as the best production print providers, it would be wise to see what else we can learn from these responses. Fifty-seven dealers (27%) identified an OEM other than their primary A3 MFP provider as their primary production print supplier. The 21 dealers that identified Xerox as their production print provider cited Canon, Kyocera, Sharp, or Toshiba as their primary A3 MFP provider.
This speaks well for the sustainability of the dealer channel in the post-pandemic period because we believe the 164 dealers, each representing one of these four OEMs, are well positioned to offset the shortfalls in print within the traditional office environment.
It was a close race for the top spot as best production print manufacturer (Exhibit 2.35). Ricoh narrowly bested Konica Minolta by two percentage points—32% to 30%. Canon wasn’t far behind at 26% with Xerox a respectable 12%. Epson, Kyocera, RISO, Sharp, and Toshiba were also identified as best production print providers by readers, however, we did not include them in Exhibit 2.35 because most of these companies do not have true production print offerings. The four companies (Canon, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, and Xerox) that competed for the category of best production print manufacturer do have full product lines. If more Canon dealers participated in the Survey, the top two spots might have been reversed. For the foreseeable future, we don’t see any other OEM supplanting these four companies in the production print ratings in our Survey because they either don’t offer true production print devices or only have a limited selection of production print products.
We are excited by the increase in production print activity in our Survey, because in conjunction with IT services, it has the potential to represent 50% of all dealer revenue.
