THE CANNATA REPORT Announces Official Date, Location And Beneficiary
Slide show from last year’s 28th Annual Awards and Charities Dinner
Our 29th Annual Awards and Charities Dinner is set for Thursday, September 18, 2014. We are scheduled to host the event at Meadow Wood Manor in East Randolph, N.J. The location is approximately seven miles from the venue where we held last year’s event in Florham Park. Reminiscent of an elegant, luxurious, yet warm and inviting estate, Meadow Wood Manor is as equally picturesque as previous event locations.
Meadow Wood Manor also has the look, feel and charm of a majestic, private home, which we found instantly reflective of THE CANNATA REPORT brand and the personal touch we are known for providing our subscribers, clients and friends across the industry. We believe that all of our guests will enjoy this dinner even more so than they may have in the past.
This year’s charity recipient is St. Ignatius College Prep, located in Chicago, Ill. The school is a 501(c)(3) institution and is well-recognized as one of the finest high schools in the country. In addition, St. Ignatius has pledged to match every dollar we raise for what will become the Anthony J. Fornelli Scholarship Endowment. Fornelli has been a friend, a mentor and an inspiration to Frank for many years. He has given to so many worthwhile causes it is difficult for anyone to keep pace with his generosity.
For many years, Fornelli has spoken extremely highly of his alma mater. At one occasion, Frank specifically asked him why he chose donating to a prep school as opposed to the university or law school he attended. Fornelli’s response was both simple and powerful: “St. Ignatius was where my character was shaped and my belief that to help others is a privilege.”
As we are all aware, the cost of education has continued to skyrocket. St. Ignatius has an annual tuition of $15,300, and the average financial aid given to students is approximately $8,000. The student body comprises 1,200 young men and women. Of that group, 360 are currently receiving financial aid. All students receiving aid enjoy the same benefits and privileges as those paying full tuition. This includes daily lunches, as well as participation in any school-related activities such as field trips.
Funding the Anthony J. Fornelli Scholarship Endowment will be the third time we have raised money for scholarship purposes, each time for a different place of learning. By contributing to this renowned institution, we will be giving several students access to a top-notch education that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to do. We look forward to sharing more about this important scholarship endowment and seeing you at our 29th Annual Awards and Charities Dinner.
