The Hackensack University Medical Center has confirmed that we have reached a total of $145,000 for the Maryann Ingoglia Leukemia Research Grant thanks to our 2013 fundraising efforts. This number brings our two-year total to $220,000. We dedicated our efforts to Maryann, and I have to believe she is aware of what we have done and probably cannot understand how and why we did it.
In this industry, raising money for charity is not that difficult. Maryann was indeed a very special person whom we loved dearly. At minimum, we can take pleasure in seeing her loving husband witness the many people who have stepped up to support this cause in his wife’s memory.
I have always believed that if you take a stand by either making the first large donation or creating the venue for fundraising, the generosity of others will follow. With our annual Awards and Charities Dinner, my wife Carol and I have provided a venue that has been able to help several charitable causes and institutions. In sum, we have raised more than $1.2 million over the years. Looking ahead, we are targeting an interesting, very different charity for next year. We hope that you will continue to support it, as you have so generously in the past.
